Inflow of foreign portfolio investments decreased 78% y/y in October.

Philippines inflow of foreign portfolio investments decreased 78% y/y to USD 237.4mn in October this year, as compared to USD 149.7mn posted in September. As reported by Dow Jones International News, fund inflows reached USD 916.3mn, while outflows reached USD 678.8mn during the period. The inflow of foreign portfolio investments reached USD 3.45bn during the first ten months of the year, as compared to the USD 2.51bn posted during the same period last year. The major sources of portfolio investments were Singapore, the U.K., U.S., Hong Kong and Luxembourg during the period.
