ILO-definition unemployment in Kazakhstan remains flat at 5.2% in August.

ILO-definition unemployment rate remains flat at 5.2% in August, the State Stat Agency has informed. The number of unemployed people amounted to 469,400 people in August. The number of unemployed officially registered with the employment office of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection came to 58,800 people or 0.6% of economically active population. The level of hidden unemployment stood at 0.4%, the Agency has informed. As of August, there were 8.6mn working people in Kazakhstan, 0.2% y/y up. The number of hired personnel amounted to 5.9mn people or 69.1% of the total number of the working people. The level of unemployment has been decreasing constantly in past 5 years.
