Hungarys consumer confidence improves in Q2 2012 - GfK.

Hungarys consumer confidence index, gauged by market researcher GfK Hungaria, improved by 7.1 points q/q to 132.4 points in the second quarter of 2012, the company said. However, the index was still down from 154.2 points a year earlier. The quarterly improvement, could be attributed to the improvement of consumer expectations, which advanced by 3 points q/q to 151.7 points. Households became more optimistic regarding their own financial position. Propensity to buy improved by 12 points in Q2 to 111 points. The share of those anticipating higher unemployment rate remained relatively unchanged from the previous quarter at 50%. On the negative side, 62% of households expected a decline in real income, while the average inflation is forecasted to grow by 9% in the next 12 months.
