Hungary's unemployment rate up to 10.8% in Q4, 11.2% in 2010.

The unemployment rate in Hungary increased by 0.3pps y/y while staying flat on the quarter at 10.8% with the number of unemployed persons growing by 4.5% y/y to 462,000 in Q4, the statistics office said in a statement. The number of employed people aged 1574 increased by 0.6% y/y to 3.804mn in Q4. A total of 62.6% of the population aged 1564 years, i.e. 4.235mn people were present on the labour market as employed or unemployed, which was an increase by 43,000 on the year in Q4. In 2010, the annual average unemployment rate stood at 11.2%, up by 1.2pps y/y. The number of employed people remained constant at an average of 3.781mn, while the number of unemployed grew by 12.8% y/y to 475,000.
