Hungary's foreign trade surplus up by 48.2% y/y in Jan-Nov.

Hungary generated a foreign trade surplus of HUF 1.398tn, up by 44% y/y, while in EUR denomination it grew by 48.2% y/y to EUR 5.093tn in January-November, preliminary data from the statistics office showed. Exports stood at HUF 18.083tn and imports at HUF 16.685tn. In terms of EUR, exports amounted to EUR 65.663bn (up by 21%) and imports at EUR 60.571bn (up by 19%). The foreign trade surplus increased by 39.8% y/y to HUF 179bn in November. In terms of EUR denomination, the surplus improved by 42.4% y/y to EUR 652mn. Exports amounted to HUF 1.93tn, while imports reached HUF 1.75tn). The EUR-denominated value of exports increased by 20% y/y to EUR 6.994bn and of imports - by 18% y/y to EUR 6.342tn, respectively. Trade within the EU accounted for 78% of exports and 67% of imports.
