High economic growth not ensuring food security.

India's high economic growth is not ensuring availability of enough food grains for the urban poor due to the weak Public Distribution System (PDS). As reported by Asia Pulse, Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy stated that the condition of PDS is very weak in many Northern states and needs to be strengthened to be accessible even by slum dwellers.
