Indonesia's government is planning to bolster the nation's economic growth by developing the nation`s creative industry across several major cities such as Yogyakarta, Bandung, Jakarta, Solo, Pekalongan, Jember, Bali, and Makassar. As reported by Antara, Ministry of Industry's Director of Small and Medium Industries Region III, Hasbi Assidiq Syamsuddin stated that the creative industry generally involves small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which are around 3mn in number in the nation. These SMEs tend to be more resilient against economic crises because they are less dependent on foreign debt and have lesser non-performing loans and thus can support the national economy against global economic crises.
