German Gerry Weber to open stores in Turkey.

Head of Germanys second largest women clothing manufacturer Gerry Weber International AGs Turkish unit, Gulay Taskiran, told Bloomberg without providing details that the company plans to open two stores in Istanbul by 2012 as a first step to operate an outlets chain in Turkey and it is currently in talks with local retail groups to sign a franchise agreement. The company may open 15 stores in the country in total, according to Taskiran. Gerry Webers annual purchases from Turkish suppliers currently amount to EUR 80mn and it currently supplies 90% of its total annual jersey fabric purchases from local companies, Taskiran informs.
