French President Sarkozy reiterates opposition to Turkeys EU membership.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy reiterated his opposition to Turkeys full EU membership in an interview with a Turkish newspaper ahead of his brief visit to the country on Feb 25. Sarkozy once again said that Turkeys membership will not be beneficial either to Turkey or the EU but they should establish closer ties. Sarkozy is expected to meet with President Abdullah Gul and PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
