Foreign direct investment in Macedonia up by 90.7% y/y in August.

The foreign direct investment in Macedonia surged by 90.7% y/y to EUR 33.4mn in August, according to data of the central bank. In August, the equity capital and reinvested earnings component showed a net outflow of EUR 24.2mn, which compares with an inflow of EUR 6.8mn in July and an outflow of EUR 1.7mn in August 2009. In Jan-Aug, foreign direct investment in Macedonia dropped by 35.4% y/y to EUR 97.5mn.
