Food retailer Euromax expands network in Albania.

By bne IntelliNews June 27, 2011
Food store chain Euromax has opened its 18th store in Albania in Shengjin Beach, Albanian Daily News reported. The company plans to launch three more hypermarkets in Tirana, Shkodra and Lezha in the next four months. Euromax will become part of Delhaize Group after the Belgian food retailer agreed to buy 100% of Euromaxs owner Serbian Delta Maxigroup earlier in March. The deal is expected to be finalised in the third quarter of 2011 following the approval of Albanian competition authority, as well as relevant bodies in Serbia, Bulgaria and Montenegro. Delhaize pledged to maintain Delta's investment and development projects, which envisage the opening of 13 more food outlets in Albania.
