Five investors bid for EUR 13.2mn Albanian Shkodra bypass project.

Five companies submitted bids in a tender for the construction of a EUR 13.2mn road bypass in Shkodra, northern Albania, Balkanweb reported. The bypass will serve as a dike for the city of Shkodra, aiming to prevent the western part of the city from flooding. We remind that the flood damages in January 2011 affected about 14,000 hectares of land and over 2,600 houses, forcing the evacuation of 14,000 people.
