Equity market capitalization of Macedonian bourse drops 2.47% m/m in September.

The market capitalization of equities traded on the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) dropped by 2.47% m/m to MKD 113.5bn (EUR 1.84bn) at end-September, according to data published by MSE. On the other hand, the market capitalization of debt instruments rose by 1.01% m/m to MKD 13.78bn. The equity indices MBI10 and MBID both dropped m/m at end-September, by 10.23% and 3.45% respectively, while the bond index OMB gained 0.82% m/m. The number of listed securities remained unchanged at 34. The MSEs turnover decreased by 88.52% m/m to MKD 266.2mn in September. However, this huge drop was caused by two block deals in August with a total value of MKD 2.16bn, while there were no block deals in September. On the other hand, the regular trading turnover rose by 69.06% m/m in September, with the equity turnover more than doubling to MKD 198.3mn, while the debt instruments turnover rose by 11.55% m/m to MKD 67.9mn. The number of transactions rose by 19.18% m/m to 1,970 in September. Foreign investors participated in 25.76% of the total turnover as buyers and in 39.86% of the total turnover as sellers.
