EE: Estonian newspapers protest against bill draft that controls journalists.

By bne IntelliNews March 19, 2010
5 national Estonian newspapers published either first-page blank, or a blank page inside the issue, as a protest against a bill drafted by the Ministry of Justice, which allows arrest of journalists for protecting their sources of information. The bill is going to be discussed in the parliament. The bill indicates 50 situations, when a journalist must disclose her sources to the police, prosecutors, or the court. Currently, Estonian Press Code of Ethics obliges journalists to protect their sources.
