Croatian construction company Viadukt has signed a HRK 45.3mn (EUR 6mn) deal with state-owned water utility Hrvatske Vode to build a sewerage system collector in the Adriatic city of Pula, the company said in a filing with the Zagreb burse. The company will implement the project in cooperation with local firms GP Krk and GK Grupa Varazdin. The project has to be completed within the following 17 months. Viadukt has informed earlier that it will participate in the project for the expansion of the Zagreb airport. Earlier this year, Croatia's government awarded a 30-year concession on the Zagreb airport to French consortium Zagreb Airport International Company (ZAIC), which includes Aeroports de Paris and industrial group Bouygues in cooperation with local partners. Viaduct will join ZAIC in the implementation of the project, which includes the construction of a new terminal at the airport. Viaduct said that the concession contract totals EUR 324mn, out of which EUR 236mn will be used for the design and construction of the new terminal and EUR 88mn will be used for maintenance of the airport infrastructure in the next 30 years. The construction works has to be completed in three years. Viadukts net profit dropped 20% to HRK 1.8mn (EUR 0.2mn) in 2011. The company's revenue rose by 13.9% to HRK 846.9mn last year on stronger sales, which increased by 25.6% to HRK 810.7mn. The total expenses stepped up by 14% to HRK 844.1mn. In January, Viadukt in a consortium with Spain's Cyes won a HRK 406.5mn contract to build a bulk cargo terminal in Croatia's southern Adriatic seaport of Ploce. The investor is the Ploce port authority. The construction works should be completed within 26 months. The bulk cargo terminal will have capacity if 4.6 million tonnes.
