Croatia's industrial production inched up 0.6% on the year in August after dropping an annual 5.5% in the previous month, working-day adjusted data of the statistics office showed. The industrial output increased in August after declining in the previous seven consecutive months. The increase was prompted by a better performance in manufacturing, which output went up 2.8% on the year, following a drop of 4.6% on the year a month earlier. Production in mining and quarrying fell 21% on the year in August, while electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply output stepped down 3%. The main industrial groups showed the following annual production movements in August: consumer durable goods increased 5.9% on the year, consumer non-durable goods went up 8% on the year and capital goods grew 3.2%, while energy decreased 0.8% and intermediate goods fell 9.9%.
