Croatia closes two chapters in EU negotiations.

The country closed another two policy chapters during the negotiations for EU membership at the intergovernmental conference, local media reported. The two chapters are food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary policy, and financial control. Thus, the country has so far closed 22 out of the 33 policy chapters in the negotiations process. EU chief negotiator Vladimir Drobnjak said that the country is focused on meeting the criteria for closing the two most difficult chapters, namely judiciary and fundamental rights, and competition policy.
