Country should evade recession in 2012.

Hong Kong must evade a recession, which is typically described as two straight quarters of contraction, this year. As reported by Dow Jones Global Equities News, the country's gross domestic product (GDP) unexpectedly contracted 0.1% q/q in the second quarter, as compared to the growth of 0.6% q/q registered in the first quarter. The country's GDP is projected to grow by 3.1% this year, as compared to the official forecast of 1%-2%.
