Country bans import of farm products from Japan.

Thailand has enforced a ban upon imports of agricultural, meat and dairy products from twelve areas in Japan. As reported by Xinhua News Agency, Food and Drug Administration secretary-general Pipat Yingseree stated that the ban is implied on fresh vegetables, fruits, meat, eggs and milk from those particular twelve areas of Japan which is effective as on April 11 of this year. He further added that discussions with the Customs Department and the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperation is planned to be conducted in order to find out possible strategies to curb individual passengers bringing agricultural products into the country, in the interests of food safety.
