Coca-Cola launches USD 3bn investment program in Russia.

Coca-Cola plans to invest USD 3bn from 2012-2016 in Russia, companys CEO Muhtar Kent announced. Overall, for the period from 1990 to 2016 investments will amount to USD 6bn. Currently Coca-Cola and its bottling franchisees operate 17 plants in Russia, including those on the base on Multon and Nidan juice producers acquired by the company in 2005 and 2010, respectively. This week the company opened a plant in the Rostov region (investment of USD 120mn, capacity of 450mn litres annually), which is going to supply winter Olympics 2014 in Sochi with soft drinks.
