Czech energy company CEZ invested more than BGN 1.7bn (EUR 0.9bn) in Bulgaria over the past 5 years, the company said on its website. The company had to invest about BGN 130mn annually to improve the quality of services, the statement added. Under a new pilot project, to be finalized by end-2010, CEZ will offer its customers in Sofia and the western part of the country to receive electronic invoices instead of the traditional paper ones, sent via mail. Earlier, local media reported that CEZ would invest, starting in July, a total BGN 3.7mn (EUR 1.9mn) in 55 projects that will improve the quality of its services in 25 towns. Project activities will include connection to the power grid of newly-built buildings, replacement of cables and recycling of electricity meters, among others. In June, the company launched 69 projects to improve electricity distribution in more than 30 towns in western Bulgaria. The total investment budget of CEZ Distribution for 2010 is BGN 71mn (EUR 36.5mn). |
