Canadian oil and gas company Petromanas Energy, 32.36% owned by Swiss Manas, began seismic research in Albania, the parent company said in a statement on its website. Petromanas started the seismic operations on Blocks D-E and Blocks 2-3, planning to complete these operations by October. The project covers 250 km of 2D seismic survey. Petromanas subsidiary Manas Adriatic Energy has signed two agreements for land seismic services with the Italian company Geotec on May 27 for Blocks D-E and Blocks 2-3 in Albania. The purpose of the seismic survey is to improve the quality of the existing prospect data and increase the chances of success of the exploratory wells to be drilled upon completion and interpretation of the new seismic data. The first well is anticipated to be drilled in early 2011.
