Bulgaria's finance ministry collects debt from Algeria.

The finance ministry had succeeded to collect the remaining part of the debt Algeria owed to Bulgaria. Some USD 14.3mn, representing USD 9.5mn debt dating back from 1986 and USD 4.8mn in interest, have been wired to Bulgaria on August 2. Finance minister Simeon Dyankov said for Focus news agency that the government is in talks with other countries that have outstanding liabilities to the state as well. Some of these are Libya, Mozambique, Angola.
