BMW car sales in Middle East up 13% y/y in H1.

The German car manufacturer BMW said in a statement its car sales in the Middle East have increased by 13% y/y to reach 8,096 BMW and MINI vehicles in H1. The highest number of sales was registered in Abu Dhabi with 1,478 cars, followed by Saudi Arabia 1,707 cars. The company's 7 Series sales across the 14 Middle East markets grew by 16% y/y to 2,402 cars while its MINI brand sales soared by 28% y/y to 293 cars between January and June this year, the statement added. In 2009, BMW Middle East posted 9% y/y fall in car sales with a total of 14,557 BMW and MINI vehicles sold in the region.
