Austrian logistics company Gebruder Weiss to set up new base in Hungary.

Austrian logistics company Gebruder Weiss planned to establish a new base in Hungary, board of directors representative Heinz Senger-Weiss announced. The new base would be located in the city of Mosonmagyarovar in the northwestern part of the country in proximity to the borders with Slovakia and Austria. Its purpose would be to support the overall objective for bringing the delivery time from Hungary to Germany under 48 hours The base would provide jobs for 26 people. Senger-Weiss did not provide information on the value of the investment or the schedule for its implementation, but added that the Hungarian unit of the company expected to generate revenue growth in 2010. Revenues of the local branch slumped by 15% y/y to HUF 8.7bn in 2009. Currently, Gebruder Weiss employs 218 workers in Hungary.
