Albanias tourism revenue up 17% in 2011.

Albanias tourism sector attracted some EUR 1.3bn of revenue in 2011, up by 17% in comparison with 2010, ATA news agency reported, citing data from the central bank. The number of tourists who visited the country last year rose 30% to 2.3mn. Tourism industry has become one of the key sectors of the Albanian economy in recent years, showing strong growth potential. As we earlier reported, the tourism ministry plans to draft a new law on tourism aiming to attract more foreign investments in the sector.
