Albanias FinMin says Moodys keeps Albanias B1 rating, outlook stable.

By bne IntelliNews June 28, 2012
Albanias finance ministry said that rating agency Moodys has confirmed Albanias B1 government bond ratings and stable outlook. A rating upgrade would reacquire an implementation of further structural reforms in the country as well as the strengthening of the institutional capacity. This refers in particular to judicial efficiency, which will give an impetus to foreign investments in Albania. Obtaining an EU candidate status would also be a credit positive signal. In this respect, the government needs to anchor policy towards further EU integration. Moodys assigned its first-ever sovereign ratings to Albania in June 2007 and has not taken any other rating actions since the initial assignment. Rating agency Standard & Poors (S&P) confirmed last week Albanias B+ long-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings with stable outlook.
