Albania to benefit from EIB energy efficiency fund.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has announced the introduction of a new fund for financing investments in energy efficiency projects in the Balkan region and Turkey . Initially the fund will operate a total of EUR 95mn, which subsequently is expected to grow to EUR 400mn during next four years. The fund has been set up in cooperation with German development bank KfW and other institutions, EIB said. The initiative aims to stimulate the economic and environmental development, through investments in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy.
