Albania slips in economic freedom ranking.

Albania was rated 70th in a ranking by the U.S.-based Heritage Foundation, with a score of 64 points, down by 2 points, the 2011 Index of Economic Freedom report showed. Albania ranked 33rd out of 43 European countries, and its overall score is above the world average. The country registered deterioration in seven out of the 10 economic freedom categories. Its level of economic freedom declined mainly due to decreases in trade freedom, investment freedom, freedom from corruption, labor freedom, and government spending categories. In a regional comparison, Albania has outperformed Montenegro -76th, Croatia 82nd, Serbia 101st and Bosnia and Herzegovina 104th.
