Energy consumption in Albania will be reduced by 9% until 2018 and by 20% until 2020 under a new strategy drafted by the economy ministry, local news agency Lajmeshqip reported. Some of the measures include introduction of ban on imports of energy-intensive products. Local authorities will also be obliged to issue building permits only in cases that beneficiaries meet energy efficiency criteria. Both public and private entities will be responsible for the implementation of the strategy. |
