Albania, Kosovo approve joint traffic control during tourist season.

By bne IntelliNews June 17, 2010
Albania and Kosovos police departments will perform joint traffic control during the summer period, according to a memorandum signed by the heads of the two institutions on Wednesday. The accord aims to monitor traffic safety along the main road linking the two countries. The agreement also enables easier passage through border checkpoints for tourists. Official data reveals that some 0.5mn citizens from the neighboring country visited Albania last year for vacations. Authorities expect a higher influx in 2010 since the key motorway linking the Adriatic port of Durres to the border crossing with Kosovo at Morina is fully operational.
