Minister of economy Dritan Prifti and his counterparts from southeastern Europe signed in Istanbul , Turkey a regional cooperation agreement with the aim of helping sustainable development. The participants called for visa liberalisation and trade facilitations with the EU. Speaking at the summit, Prifti emphasized the country's annual economic growth of 3.9% last year, which was registered despite the global economic slowdown. He believes that GDP growth will accelerate up to 5% y/y this year. In addition, FDI inflows in the country have expanded by 59% y/y in 2009, which reflects the favourable business environment in Albania , according to the minister.
