Albania boosts economic co-operation with Russia.

Albania and Russia have agreed to boost political co-operation and expand bilateral economic relations, Albania Daily News reported citing a statement of parliament speaker Jozefina Topalli at a meeting with her Russian counterpart Boris Grizllov in Moscow. Topallis visit marks the first high-level political meeting between officials of the two countries since 1995. The two sides agreed for the establishment of cooperation framework that should be promoted through exchange of visits and encouragement of economic ties. Collaboration in the field and tourism and energy is an area of specific interest for Russian business, Grizllov said. In this regard, Topalli expressed gratitude to Russian government for willingness to include Albania in the South Stream natural gas pipeline project.
