Aeroflot - Russian Airlines RAS net profit jumps y/y in Q1.

The RAS net profit of the domestic air carrier Aeroflot - Russian Airlines amounted to RUB 2.1bn (USD 75.9mn) in Q1/10, vs. RUB 0.5bn net profit seen in Q1/10, the company announced. Net profit jump in Q1 was attributed to the boosted revenues due to sales of stakes in number of affiliated companies. As reported previously, passenger traffic of Aeroflot increased by 19% y/y to 2.78mn people in Jan-Mar 2011. Out of that, international passenger traffic amounted to 1.79mn (up by 19.7%), while domestic passenger traffic was 0.99mn (up by 17%). Aeroflot had its net profit under IFRS more than double y/y to USD 280mn in 2010 vs. profit of USD 122mn in 2009.
