Accounting firm BDO sets up unit in Albania.

BDO, the worlds fifth largest accountancy network, has set up a unit in Albania seeking to expand operations in the region, the company said in a press release. BDO Albania obtained its audit licence on February 15, 2011 and was established in cooperation with local firm PBM. The new law on auditing, which came into force in 2009, has significantly remodelled the organisation of the accounting and auditing profession in Albania, BDO managing partner Limos Malaj said. BDO has 1,082 offices in 119 countries worldwide.
