ABB Romania to build USD 24mn substation for connecting Verbund wind farm.

Power grid operator Transelectrica awarded ABB Romania a USD 24mn contract for the construction of a substation, linking a 700MW wind farm to the national grid, Mediafax reported, quoting an ABB Romania statement. The wind farm is developed by a consortium, led by Austrian Verbund and including its subsidiaries Alpha Wind and CAS Regenerabile, as well as Romanian Beta Wind and Italian Land Power Inergia. The wind farm, which is located in Tulcea, is to be commissioned in 2012.
