Ukraine’s retail sales grew by 8.8% last year, according to the State Statistics Service and finished a year of recovering sales on a very strong note.
The country’s retail sales were contracting by double digit figures for all of 2015 and were volatile in 2016. However, retail turnover was stronger for most of 2017, expanding by 8-10% each month of the year.
Consumption finished the year on a particularly strong note with retail sales up a whopping 16.1% in December y/y.
In the course of the year six regions put in retail growth in excess of 11% including: Zakarpattia, Odesa, Lviv, Cherkasy, Kyiv and Vinnytsia
