The government of North Macedonia launched on March 5 the process of the renaming the country’s institutions under the Prespa name deal with Greece that changed the name of the country.

The deal, under which Macedonia was renamed North Macedonia, was signed in June 2018 and became effective on February 12, 2019 following the ratification by the Greek parliament.

Most of the state intuitions retained their names, with "North" being added before "Macedonia".

However, Macedonian Radio Television was renamed National Radio Television, while the Macedonian Opera and Ballet will be just called National Opera and Ballet.

The government instructed all institutions to check whether all digital records were changed (logos, memorandums, electronic communications, websites and media), it said in the statement.

The institutions should submit a report on whether the changes were made and to what extent within seven days.
