Maturing Iranian bonds produce dividends of IRR5.8tn

IRR5.8tn ($151.59mn) in bond dividends are to be paid out during the current sixth month of the Persian calendar year (August 23-Sepember 22) via the Central Securities Depository of Iran (CSDI), the sole registry and custodian of Iranian capital market payments, Securities and Exchange News Agency reported on August 28.

Corporate bonds are becoming an increasingly popular option among Iranian investors with yields from deposit accounts down to 15%, compared to annual inflation approaching 10%. Profits from the bonds can exceed 19-25%.

Bonds issued by automaker SAIPA, telecoms company RighTel, Mahan Airlines, Dana Petroleum Rigs, South Kaveh Steel Co. and two ministries are all set to mature during the present Iranian month.

In all, there are more than 80 types of fixed rate income issues on the Iranian debt market, the yields of which are paid out on a monthly or quarterly basis.
