Volume of Croatia's new industrial orders up 25.6% y/y in August.

The number of new industrial orders in Croatia went up 25.6% on the year in August after increasing an annual 4.1% in the previous month, the statistics office said. Orders on foreign markets stepped up by 35.5% on the year in August, while domestic market orders went down an annual 1.6%, the office said in a statement. The highest annual increase in August was observed in the intermediate goods segment, where new orders rose by 62.1%, and capital goods segment, where new orders stepped up 11.3% on the year. Decrease was recorded in the consumer durable goods segment, where new orders went down by an annual 71.4%. The total seasonally adjusted industrial new orders in August dropped by a monthly 9.3%. August industrial turnover rose 11.9% on the year mainly due to a 21.3% increase in foreign markets turnover. The turnover on the domestic market was up by an annual 2.2%. The total seasonally adjusted industrial turnover in August went up by 3.3% on the month due to a 4.1% rise in the foreign turnover segment. Industrial turnover on the domestic market increased 1.1% on the month. According to the main industrial groups, industrial turnover in the energy sector moved up by a monthly 12.7%, while capital goods sector turnover was up by 9.2% on the month. Consumer durable goods segment, however, declined by 26.8% month-on-month.
