US Special Representative to Muslim Communities visits Kazakhstan.

U.S. Special Representative to Muslim Communities Farah Pandit visited Kazakhstan from Jul 30 to Aug 4. The main aim of the visit was to indicate Obama's commitment to a new relationship with Muslims around the world. Kazakhstan has also benefited from the visit. Astana presently holds chairmanship in the OSCE and among its priorities is tolerance and non-discrimination among all religions and people of all faiths. Pandit visited the cities of Almaty, Shymkent and Turkiestan and met with religious officials, NGO representatives, students and scholars as well as with the media.
