US-based 3M to invest USD 500mn in Turkey.

US-based 3M signed an agreement with Turkeys Investment Support and Promotion Agency in order to establish a production hub in Corlu town of Tekirdag province with a total investment of USD 500mn. Giuseppe Castaldi from 3M said that the planned production hub will employ 1,000 personnel and will be 3Ms third largest production hub in Europe that will make production for the European, Middle Eastern and African markets. The construction works will be launched within this year and the production hub is planned to come online within next year, according to Castaldi. Please note that economy minister Zafer Caglayan said in April that Pepsi, GE, 3M, K-Clark, Quest Diagnostics, Blackberry and Chrysler planned investments in Turkey.
