UNDP supports development of IT infrastructure in Albania.

Albanias minister of innovation Genc Pollo and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) in Albania have signed a project for modernisation of the countrys IT infrastructure, UNDP said on its website. The project includes technical assistance to create a complete legal framework as well as strengthening the public and private partnerships in this regard. It also foresees the establishment of a national broadband network, which will enable central and local authorities to increase the number and quality of the e-services provided to citizens. We remind that the government has launched a wide-scale imitative called "Digital Albania", which aims to improve the competitiveness of the local economy. Along with technical assistance, it requires investments in IT infrastructure, institutional reforms and legislative improvements as well.
