Ukraine will remain among the world's ten biggest producers of steel in 2010, experts of investment group Sokrat predict. This will be possible thanks to restoration of the demand for steel and expansion to new markets, which will help boost steel production by 7%, they say. According to the World Steel Association, last year, Ukraine produced 29.8mn tons of steel, having run the world's 8th. Ukraine 's steel output fell 20.2% last year, Sokrat says. The global production of steel last year reduced by 8% to 1.33bn tons, the WSA says.
