Ukraine has taken a neutral position in the Russia-Belarus gas conflict, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has said, according to RIA Novosti. However, earlier on Tuesday, PM Mykola Azarov said Ukraine was ready to provide extra gas transit through its territory if the conflict causes a drop in Russian gas supplies to the EU. We should note that Russian gas transit via Ukraine grew by 40% since year start, according to Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Boyko.
