Ukraine may receive USD 40mn from Global Environment Facility in order to implement environmental programs, GEF CEO Monique Barbut has announced. She pointed out that in past years, USD 71mn was invested in the implementation of environmental programmes in Ukraine, while co-financing stood at USD 196mn. These funds, according to her, were channelled for 18 projects. Barbut also anticipates that the domestic government will work out projects relating to drinking water treatment, pesticide removal, construction of plants to dispose of waste and other organic substances, as well as projects on reducing emissions.
