Ukraine and Russia to sign number of bilateral agreements.

Russian-Ukrainian committee for economic cooperation met on Wednesday to discuss, apart from gas issues, bilateral cooperation on energy, aircraft building and in other areas. According PM Mykola Azarov, cooperation will intensify facilitated border crossing, cultural exchange, student exchange, the agricultural sector and others. Eleven draft documents have been prepared for consideration at this session, the head of the Ukrainian government said. In his turn, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine and Russia should focus on cooperation in high-tech industries, particularly in atomic energy. Putin pointed to a considerable increase of trade turnover between Ukraine and Russia. The Russian prime minister also stressed that it is not the issue of trade turnover that first of all is on the agenda of relations between Ukraine and Russia, but its filling with new quality content, including the modernization of the economy and creation of new high-paid jobs. Putin also reported about stabilization of relations in the energy sector between the two countries.
