UK retailer Tesco expanded its branch network in Slovakia, opening a new supermarket in the regional centre of Zilina, the company announced. The supermarket is Tesco's fourth facility in the city. It will occupy and area of 600 sqm and provide work for 31 people. Tesco reconstructed a former shopping centre in a residential area of the city, but no information on the size of the investment was provided. The company's branch network thus expanded to 83 stores and sixteen petrol stations. Tesco is the leading retail chain in the country and planned to open a total of fifteen new outlets in 2010, creating close to 700 new job positions. |
