Thailand’s MPI declines 4.54% y/y in July

Thailand’s manufacturing production index (MPI) declined 4.54% y/y in July this year, recording the fourth consecutive decline. According to the Office of Industrial Economics, the seafood processing and preserving sector’s production declined 31.11% during the period, due to a disease continued to plague the crustaceans in the shrimp farming industry.

The county’s home electrical appliance industry’s output decreased 23.03% during the period. The nation’s capacity utilization rate was recorded at 64.56% during the first seven months of this year, while the exports of industrial goods expanded 3.2%.
