Swedish Atlas Copco plans to move production to Bulgaria.

Swedish industrial group Atlas Copco plans to relocate production of light compaction equipment from Sweden to Bulgarias northern city of Rousse, the company said in a statement. The move will affect 69 employees at the companys plant in Ljungby, southern Sweden. By moving production to Bulgaria, Atlas Copco targets to improve the operational efficiency and to make the production cost competitive,Bjorn Rosengren, Business Area President for Construction and Mining Technique said. If the plan is approved, the relocation is expected to be completed by the end of 2011. Atlas Copcos products and services range from compressed air and gas equipment, generators, construction and mining equipment, industrial tools and assembly systems, to related aftermarket and rental. The group has manufacturing units in 20 countries.
